Different By Design was founded in 2004 by Greg Lanesey and Matt Radecki.  Their goal is to produce interesting and entertaining films and provide high definition production and post productions services to their clients.


Since its inception, Different By Design has produced eight feature length films that have played at such festivals as Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, AFI Los Angeles, Hot Docs, Los Angeles Film Festival and the Seattle Film Festival.  The films have played in theaters, on HBO, Showtime, PBS and are available on home video.  DXD has also provided HD services on over 300 feature films, documentaries and music videos.

Marwencol has been nominated for Best Documentary and wins both the Truer Than Fiction Award and the Jameson FIND Your Audience Award at the Independent Spirit Awards.


HD Cinema’s Arri Alexa has arrived.

Alien Earths, which was picture finished at Different By Design, was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Animated Program category.

Different By Design is an official sponsor of the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.  We have completed work on three Slamdance Feature Docs, one Slamdance feature film, 12 Slamdance Shorts and two Sundance NEXT films.

Alien Earths premieres on National Geographic Channel.  Addicted to Beauty airs on Oxygen.


DXD completes work on Beer Wars, which was screening in over 400 theaters and Outrage, the new film by Kirby Dick.  Outrage will premiere at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival and be released by Magnolia Pictures


DXD offers a new service: Teranex up conversion, cross conversion and restoration using the Teranex VC300.  This is the best up converter and cross converter available.


DXD completed color grading on “Godspeed” screening at the 2009 Cinevegas film festival.  This film was colored at 2k using the FCP Red plugin and Color.


DXD completed picture finishing on “Big River Man” which won the International Documentary Cinematography Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
